Welcome to the Buckman Center for Global Engagement

At Rhodes College, global learning is a cornerstone of the liberal arts experience. The Buckman Center for Global Engagement empowers students to explore the world through immersive study abroad and off-campus programs. Approximately 65% of Rhodes students participate in international or off-campus study, often during their sophomore or junior years, reflecting the college's commitment to global citizenship. 

The Buckman Center offers a diverse array of programs, including faculty-led summer "Maymesters," semester exchanges, and affiliated partnerships. Importantly, Rhodes' financial aid is portable for semester-long programs, ensuring that global experiences are accessible to students from all backgrounds. 

Rhodes' excellence in global engagement has been nationally recognized, with the college ranking among the top institutions for study abroad participation in the Open Doors 2023 Report
